When my dad told me last June (2024) that he was retiring to be able to advocate full-time, I was even more proud to have HIM as my father than ever before.

I witnessed the light fade from his eyes in a hospital room on April 22, 2022. My dad has always been my hero. For the first time in our lives, he could not save me. We were stuck, confused, heartbroken, and alone. We had no idea what to do next.

This organization is something I wish existed in those following weeks/months. Navigating the justice system with limited knowledge is extremely difficult. The idea behind this organization was to give other families an avenue of answers and support along with information and facts.

We could not be the only family suffering through uncertainty, devastation, and frustration.

I have always shared my dad’s passion for helping others. The concept of this organization was developed over a series of conversations, ideas, goals, and dreams discussed across a table inside the Lowell Work Camp prison visitation room.

I have watched my dad come alive again. He has found a new purpose, a way to make something good come from such a tragedy. My dad has found a way to help people in some of the darkest points in their lives.

He has helped ME in countless ways. He made me realize that my life is worth living and that my dreams are not dead. With his support, I will never give up on myself.

I look forward to seeing all the help this organization can offer families whose lives have been affected by the justice system. Even if your loved one may have committed a crime, they, and YOU, are still deserving of help, support, prayer, and love as you navigate a new reality.

Always remember that God uses sinners to accomplish His will.

Welcome to FJSA, and may God bless you.
